It can't be always gourmet food, today it was a quick bacon and cheese on toast. And of course with the obligatory tea towel close by!
And what a blast from the past it was! It transported me straight back to weekends in my childhood. On Saturday evenings it was probably lentil or oxtail soup and on Sunday morning it was generally a good old bacon buttie. Most of the time it was Warburton's with not too crispy bacon and dripping with butter. But occasionally I wanted an open sandwich with the bacon topped with a little melted Cheddar. And that's exactly what I opted for today. And they tasted as good as they did all those years ago.
